This course is designed to prepare students to become Certified Coding Specialists (CCS) by providing the knowledge and skills necessary to demonstrate data quality and accuracy mastery of coding proficiency for inpatient and outpatient records. Students will learn how to evaluate health record documentation and charges to optimize reimbursement by ensuring that diagnostic and procedural codes and other documentation accurately reflect and support the visit and assigning and sequencing the correct ICD-10- CM and CPT codes.
